How To Wear A Bright Yellow Maxi Dress Casually

So sad to say that the hot sunny season here in Kenya is slowly going away and we are going into the cold season but I honestly had so much fun styling clothes for the hot weather. I even managed to film a lookbook on how to wear a maxi dress because the weather allowed for it.

Maxi dresses are nice and decent. I admit that I rarely wear them but that does not mean I don't own any. In fact, I own a good number of them.Anyway, this is how I went about this yellow number. How to style a maxi dress casually.

I got this dress some years back from Zaful. When it comes to casual pieces, I have a lot that came from that site although honestly it's been a while since I last bought something from them. 

Anyway, what drew me to that dress is the fact that it looked so nice and bright on the website and I was so sure the dress would look like sunshine. Beautifully yellow.

When it arrived, the dress looked exactly like I imagined. A little loose fitting at the top and bottom but then very well cynched around the waist. Maxi dresses are often super long but this particular maxi dress doesn't cover my feet. It goes to my ankles.

So this dress is was so easy to style. Actually I can think of so many ways to wear it but because it was extremely hot, I went for the easiest way to style a maxi dress casually. With a pair of my favorite sandals.

I love wearing yellow with contrasting colors such as pink and red and that's exactly what I did. I wore it with a red bag and then tied my hair up in a puff.

This look is actually making me feel like I need a vacation although I know that will not be possible immediately but oh well, the time will come.
