SOMEONE TELL CNN!!

Exactly.SOMEONE TELL CNN that Kenya is by no means a hot bed for terror.I couldn't believe that ridiculous headline CNN had on their news yesterday. Why does the international media always depict such a negative image of African countries?Sure we've had a couple of attacks in the recent past but this was certainly an exaggeration. Why choose to focus on so much negativity now when there's so much good happening.Like the fact that this is the land of President Obama's dad and there's a tourism expo at his home village area in his honor? Why not tell the world that this is East Africa's leading economy,or The Home of Champions(our athletes are always winning races) or that it's The Cradle of Man if you follow the evolution theory or focus on the numerous attraction sites we have that make for great safaris?I just think it's high time people stopped thinking of Africa as a land of death, destruction, disease and despair, because there's a lot more that's good.I am doing my internship in a company that receives so many tourists and volunteers who are usually impressed by their Kenyan experience at the end of their trips, work camps and projects, proving the media wrong.Just saying.

I let the outfit speak for itself today because I have to say, there's so much paralysis in the city because of President Obama's arrival later today.Certain roads have been closed for his exclusive use and convenience, some people have made their weekend start today to avoid being stranded at the city center, even the airport will be closed for some hours today .Social media is a buzz of jokes and excitement and funny, there's now a new beer and alcohol free cocktail named Obama.Oh Kenyans lol!!It probably has something to do with the fact that this is his father's land and his visit is being taken as a home coming even though it's strictly a business trip.Anyway,Nairobians, just stay home if you don't urgently have to go to the city center which is what I plan on doing and enjoy a nice weekend at home. It's only for three days then we can get our city back.Use the hash tag someonetellcnn on twitter to see what Kenyans had to say about the headline.
Thanks for stopping by
Yours
Sophie

With constant exposure to media and information, people are becoming more and more health conscious. They want to look good and feel good, and are always trying to lead a life of better quality. They go to health resorts and gyms and play sports in order to stay fit.

  5. I couldn't agree more and I totally understand you. I'm from Serbia and whenever it's on the news, it's some stupid thing and lies based on the past while reality is totally different. I'm sure Kenia is an amazing country and I hope to visit it one day.
