Is embroidery still in?
Well I don't really know about you but I am still so here for it. I wanted to put up this post on how to wear the floral embroidery trend for a casual day because for me, embroidery is still beautiful.
So this is a look I rocked for a sisters day out. Yes, I was out with my sister Marion to check out a new mall in our hometown and because I needed to be on my feet all day, it just really worked.
The floral embroidery trend was once traditional and my mum always says they used to like wearing embroidered clothes back then. A traditional trend that has become very modern nowadays to the extent of having people like myself obsessed with it. I'm sure you can tell from the many times I have rocked embroidery here on the blog.
I like to wear the embroidered trend mostly on shirts and shirtdresses but then it also has to do with the fact that I have not quite landed myself a nice pair of embroidered jeans or pants to date. Sad.
So I love this trend on shirts, blouses, outerwear like sweaters and kimonos because it just looks very nice, pretty and girly.
So, here are my few tips on how to wear the embroidery trend for a casual day.
Choose a flower type you like
People do different kinds of flowers on clothes. Red roses may be the most common, but they are not the only ones you can go for.
For this particular look, I went for a less bright flower that went a little farther on both sides of the front.
Careful when it comes to prints and patterns
For this particular embroidery, the shirt is actually pinstriped. I like embroidery on pinstripes because pinstripes are small and easy on the eye and adding embroidery on the print just usually works great. I often just choose blue pinstripes.
Keep everything simple
Well, I don't know about you but for me, floral embroidery already stands out by itself and I find that pairing pieces that have it with other loud pieces too noisy.I like to pair anything embroidered with blacks, whites or other plain colors just to allow it to stand out like it's supposed to.
Those are three tips on how I like to wear embroidery in general but for a casual day?
I go for comfortable sneakers or converse and often choose pants or leggings because they are so comfortable.
For this look, I paired my super cute embroidered shirt with a pair of black leggings and some slip-ons. For a pop of color, I figured this bag would do and just to make the look more fun, I wore these big, white sunnies.
My hair is almost always in a puff because it is simpler to keep it that way.So, is embroidery still in? For me, it certainly is, just as long as you get the styling right.
I hope you got the chance to watch my video in which I wore this. Do not forget to subscribe to my channel by the way.
