How To Wear A Leather Coat And Look Chic

It is common to see a leather jacket outfit. As a matter of fact, leather jackets make for the most amazing layering pieces. However, I was so glad to see this beautiful green leather coat up on the Dresslily website and I just had to have it.

I instantly knew it was going to make for an amazing wardrobe piece. I've worn it twice already. The first time to a lunch date on a Sunday with my friend Virginia. If you're subscribed to my YouTube channel you've probably watched that vlog already and the second time, on the day I took these photos. So guys, here's an idea on how to wear a leather coat and look chic.

So if you've been stopping by my blog long enough, you already know that I love to wear embroidered pieces and I own quite a number of them. I feel like embroidery just usually makes a piece even more beautiful. So when I saw the way this one had been done, I was in love. 

The color of the embroidery contrasts beautifully with the green leather and has been so nicely done. Very precise and well placed. It's got a beautiful pattern on the sleeve and then in other areas.

Aside from the embroidery, I also couldn't get over the beautiful design of the green leather coat. It's got a beautiful mandarin collar. I love the chineese design that makes this leather coat outfit stand out even more. The slits are great too don't you think? I do have leather jackets in brown, black, white and pink but the uniqueness of the green on this piece is to die for.

So how do you wear such a leather coat and look chic?

Well it's easy. 

In this case, the green leather coat makes a statement on its own because of the embroidered detail so to keep it classy, just go simple with everything else. I wore a skinny fitted pair of black pants and some closed black ankle strap shoes. I wanted some color so I reached out for this brown bag which I've had for quite a while. I chose it because it's nice and plain and the brown looks so good against the green. 

I also went for this nice pair of earrings that are simple and have some brown to match the bag and held my hair up in a puff.

I repeat, to look classy in such a coat, the key is to just let it have its moment because the coat deserves to shine don't you think?
