Hey guys!
I have something a little different for you guys.Something a bit different from what I normally write about on the blog.I just thought, it is a lifestyle blog read by different people so I might just go on ahead and include some different topics once in a while.
Today, I'm talking a bit about kids. The new year is about to start and some will be sent out to kindergarten and these points will be helpful. Will make for a good read before you all get too busy next week when the year actually begins.
Little ones should be engaged with easy kindergarten activities! These activities for kindergarteners will hold their attention and satisfy their curiosity. It is a great resource for all parents and also for teachers.
Kindergarten Reading
Activities:
Read with your child. You should read storybooks
aloud with your little one to help build her vocabulary. For every day carrier
recommends at least 20 minutes of reading. At bedtime reading books is a
helpful routine. You can take advantage of other opportunities as well, such as
while waiting at the doctor’s office or a restaurant. Scholastic recommends
discussing some books as you read them. Ask questions that address what the kid
thinks of the plot, characters and motivations within the story. Also, have
your kid summarize the story and compare it to other stories she knows.
Kindergarten Math
Activities:
You should prepare yourself for kids with a wide
range of skills. You also should be ready for kids who are readers, kids who
have never seen letters, and everything in between. Make sure she understands
the concept, or she's facing the daunting challenge of memorizing meaningless
rules. You should teach her to write clearly and neatly. Tracing letters and
writing on graph paper will improve her number writing. You can review math
vocabulary to ensure she can define the skills she's learning. Check to make
sure your kid is approaching her homework spontaneously. She should study the
textbook. She also should practice the sample problem before starting the
assignment.
Explain her how math applies to real-life situations
and challenge him to help you solve the math problems.
Kindergarten Science
Activities:
Make your home a Petri
dish for creativity. You should encourage your kids to find more than one route
to a solution, and more than one solution to a problem. When your kids
successfully solve a problem, ask them to solve it again but to find a new way
to do it (same solution, different route). Then also ask them to come up with
more solutions to the same problem. It will improve their science experiences.
Kindergarten Games
Activities:
You can train and
strengthen a kid’s ability to concentrate and focus by playing concentration
games that require thinking, and planning. You can encourage your child to
create a picture in his mind of what he’s just read or heard. Then have your
kids to draw that picture. As she gets better at visualizing, she can properly
describe the image to you instead of needing to draw it.
Kindergarten Art and
Coloring Activities:
Children can learn to draw
the same way they learn to speak by copying. Drawing with kids can help them
discover that shapes can carry meaning, and more importantly, that they can
create meaningful shapes themselves. You can draw simple faces. As you draw,
you can also explain what you are doing: a happy smile, a sad face, curly hair,
this one has ear-rings. Draw trees, flowers, grass, a house and animals. It
will makes your kids mind more creative.
So, these rules of
learning can ensure a great way to develop your kids mind.
