You’ve already found all the accessories you’ve ever
dreamed about, and you’ve got your dream dress. You’ve even mastered that sexy
red lip or smoky eyes, and you’ve got the guy! So, the only thing you need to
get right before prom night is your skin.
Don’t worry! You really don’t need to panic about it.
You’re doing your research, checking expert predictions on dazzling prom dresses 2019 fashionistas will go gaga over; you’ve also spent ages
perfecting your makeup. Well, just take the time to get your skin on point and
you’ll be photo-ready and glowing on prom night!
Six Weeks Before The
Big Night
You’re probably aiming for super-clear skin for the
night, right? That requires some serious skin care dedication, and perhaps even
a consultation with a skin care therapist. If you have problem skin or need
advice on getting things right, you may want to book a skin analysis with your
beautician to figure out what’s going on with your skin and get advice on the
right products to clear it up. If you’re in a rush, there are skin mapping
tools online you might like to try.
Five Weeks Before Your
Prom
In the five weeks leading up to prom, you should focus
on the three main skin issues that may be causing your breakouts: excessive oil
pollution, clogged pores and breakout-causing bacteria. Find a product designs
to target these problems, preferably in an easy, 3-step regimen of cleansing,
toning and moisturizing.
If possible, ask your parents to stop using dryer
sheets, too, that have artificial fragrances. These usually clog pores and
irritate skin. If you can, switch to non-comedogenic makeup
that won’t clog up your pores and drink plenty of water to clear away those
break-out inducing toxins.
One Month To Go
If you’re following the above two points, your skin
should be looking and feeling amazing. This is the time to start using a
blackhead clearing and pore control scrub to get rid of pore-clogging, dead
cells. You should also start using a cooling face mask once or twice a week.
If you take medication for acne and your skin feels
irritated or dry, switch to a more hydrating lotion to help calm your skin down
and banish dry patches.
Two To Three Weeks
Before Your Prom
If you’ve chosen a beautiful dress that shows off your
arms, chest or back, make sure you’re probably rinsing off soaps, gels and hair
conditioner. They can all cause acne. Make sure you’re exfoliating, too.
Seven Days To Go
In the run up to prom, try to get loads of
skin-healing rest. If you suffer a break out, don’t panic. Get a good quality
product that will stop spots in their tracks and always resist the urge to pop
them.
On The Day Of Prom
You’ve made it! If you’ve been dedicated and diligent,
your face should be smooth and ready for your perfect prom makeup.
Before you do apply makeup, make sure you cleanse,
tone and moisturize just the way you have been, and you can head off clear,
smooth and glowing!

Great skincare tips to prepare for some important event. Loved reading. I try to follow a proper skincare routine but am extra careful and less lazy when I have some event to attend to. :-)
