I am so grateful for the growth I have seen in myself and now I can honestly give a tale on this. My blogging journey, but just in brief because we could go on and on but you don't want to read an extremely long article.
So, I thought it would be awesome to share just a bit of how I started out in this blogging journey. You know, reasons why I started blogging when I did.
So first of all, it's worth noting that when the idea of starting a blog came to mind, I never knew just how much work blogging involved but most of all, I did not even know I could expect something or anything from it once in a while.
These were initially the reasons why my blogging journey started quite honestly.Funny reasons, but hey it was just mostly for fun initially.
A few days later, I started my blogging journey.I felt so fulfilled with every post that went live. It made me so happy although I must admit the quality of those posts is very wanting lol. That said, I would never take them down because they show me how I slowly improved.
Funny, I never checked the statistics. I didn't even know it was something I should have been doing.I never planned my shoots, just believed in whatever I was wearing and took photos in it whenever I had the chance to, mostly before or after my classes so I have pictures of me just in the school premises of Moi University lol.
I had a low quality camera but it never bothered me.I also never constantly checked my emails.
In short, the only research I had done on blogging was "how to start a blog" lol and it helped because then I did not have to get anyone's assistance to get started.
With time, my blog became my little creative outlet.People started commenting on my posts.I started putting in more effort into posting, even though I never looked at it as an actual job.I really had no idea blogging paid some people. There wasn't so much hype about it in my campus surrounding like there is in most these days but wow, it was hard.Harder than I thought it would be to stay consistent.
One day, a brand approached me and that's how I discovered freebies, online shopping, PayPal and realized that this blogging could actually get me something in return. It's also then that I realized that I'd missed out on a few other opportunities by not checking my mails.
So, I also didn't get to work with the brand again because I was so poor at promoting whatever they sent me but I learnt more later and afterwards, bought a new camera and worked a bit harder and more people started approaching me for promotions.
I've never really been in a rut. No writers block since I started. I literally enjoy doing this so much, I wish it was my full time job. I guess I have to figure out a way to make that happen but the challenges keep increasing. You guys, it's not easy being a blogger.Really isn't but that's a story for another day.
I don't exactly make a fortune from blogging but I love that every once in a while, I get some pennies for my thoughts here and there. It's actually great that I never imagined I could get paid for anything I did on my blog so my drive was and always is the love for the art.
Blogging opened me up to a whole new different world which will be another post for another day.
I get to interract with a good number of people here and there which is something I really appreciate and by the way, I appreciate so much even the few or many comments I get on each post.
I've been able to learn so much in these few blogging years and I hope you can journey with me as I continue with this amazing hobby of mine.

I felt your blogging journey is my story too, I was never on it for the money just for the pleasure that it gives me. I guess this way we can continue our passion without setback since we won't be disappointed although earning every now and then is more than welcome. Cheers to your blog and wishing your more years of enjoyment.

Great post, Sophie! I did a lot of research before I started my blog. All the research told me it would be a lot of work, but I didn't really believe it. How hard could this be? Of course, now I know it is a lot of work, but we keep keepin' on because we love it! I love your style, girl! :)
