How To Look Chic While Wearing A Duster

I hope you're doing great wherever you are. Goodness, I know it's summer in the west, nice and warm. Lucky are you guys. On my end, it's just starting to get colder. July is the coldest month in Kenya. I'm honestly not the biggest fan of cold weather, but I sure do like the outfits that come with it. Well, it hasn't gotten to the freezing type and the sun still comes up around midday, hence my outfit. Here's how to wear a duster.

So, are dusters still in style in 2021? Well, Yes! I just really love them because there are so many duster outfit ideas that will have you looking bomb. A duster also makes an otherwise very boring outfit look chic and all. 

So, I bought this duster from Shein about three years ago and boy am I happy it's mine. First of all, it comes in an amazing color and I can think of so many duster outfits with it because it goes with blacks, whites, reds, and many others. You can use it for duster outfits involving skirts, dresses, pants, jumpsuits and so on. Whichever you pick from these, best believe you'll look nice and chic. 

So, for my outfit, I decided to go for this beautiful nude-ish colored duster and layered it over a red sweater top that I wore with some black pants. I rolled up my pants and wore some black heels. To complete my duster outfit, I went for a burgundy bag and some Maasai bead earrings. 

Sadly, I misplaced the earrings and haven't been able to find a similar pair yet. I also preferred a burgundy bag to a red one because for this specific outfit I didn't want to be too matchy matchy. I just wanted the duster to stand out.

So I could have easily picked a red or burgundy dress for this look. Black or white can work too. Point is, pair your duster with a dress and heels for a chic alternative to the outfit I have here. 

So, I wore this to work on a weekday but for a casual chic look perfect for a weekend, you can always switch up the pants for a pair of leggings or jeggings and the heels for some simple sneakers or converse.
