Styling Jeggings With A Red Oversize Sweater

I hope you're doing alright wherever you are. The world has been a painful place to be in these past few days considering everything that's been happening especially in the US amidst a pandemic that has pretty much put our lives at an almost standstill. There is honestly never an excuse to treat anyone differently because of the color of their skin. It just cannot be justified. I'm an African girl who lives in Africa but I am really questioning how safe I would be out there after what happened to George Floyd. Can't help it because honestly at this day and age, 2020, we shouldn't be seeing what we've seen with him and many other victims. Sad.

Anyway, with everything that's been going on for weeks or even months now I realized I seem to be forgetting to post on here yet I have so many looks that I fortunately filmed before things got serious here in Kenya and this is one of them. I thought I'd share this look on styling my jeggings with a red oversize sweater.

To know me is to know that I am a sucker for sweater outfits and this was no exception. I thrifted this sweater for 200 Kenyan shillings( $2) in Nairobi CBD when it was normal to do so. loved it for its color and I honestly could see so many ways of styling it. I have styled this comfy oversize sweater before with a midi skirt but on this day, I wanted to dress it down a bit.

So my favorite way to dress down is to wear leggings or jeggings with whatever else. For this particular look, I wore my high waist black jeggings which I have almost overwork. They're my favorite pair because of that high waist design that comes with those three buttons you can see.

A combination of red and black always gives a very nice, put-together look and that's what I achieved despite this being a casual look.

I decided to keep it all matchy-matchy for this oversize sweater outfit with some red sandals. This is actually something I wore to a very impromptu lunch date with a friend. Simple as it was, I actually felt pretty cute in this look because some times, simplicity just goes a long way. In other words, less is more.

Just added a simple crossbody and a pair of sunnies, which were really for the pictures because I didn't really wear them. They're super dark and it wasn't exactly a hot, sunny day.
