How To Wear Gingham: Blue Gingham Dress

 

Hey guys!

Well, it's officially Spring in different parts of the West and while we don't have spring here in Kenya, we are experiencing the warm weather. Scratch that, it has been terribly hot in Kenya, especially Nairobi since January and while it can get a it unbearable, I would choose warm weather over cold weather on any day. 

Today's outfit is on how to wear gingham, specifically a blue gingham dress. This is literally one of my favorite dresses at the moment.

So, I love this blue gingham dress because it is a modest dress, it's a midi dress and as you probably already know, I really just love midi dresses and as such, I just wear them every chance I get. I love how this blue gingham dress simply and subtly incorporates a frilly design at the bottom as well as a shirred design at the top. The sleeves are also very interesting and you've got to love that right? 

Since a gingham dress is already a statement, I figured styling one in the simplest way would be such a great idea. Doing this always gives your entire outfit a good balance. So, I wore some silver minimalist open heels and went for a black, tiny bag, crossbody to be more precise. I also added these slim frame sunglasses. I really loved the look. 

I feel like gingham is such a necessity or warmer times because the gingham pattern is young and playful. It is very flattering on people of different bodies and different fashion preferences. I really love the fact that it looks great in whatever color because here I have it in blue but it pretty much looks amazing in a red n white, yellow n white, you name it. 

I also feel like a gingham dress, just like a little white dress,  never goes out of style because it is perfect for every other spring or summer season that comes and goes don't you think?
