Checked Skirt

Thank God it's Friday even though I know that the Monday that awaits me is going to be an excruciating one.I've got a class scheduled for 8:30 am,another one with presentations scheduled for 10:45 and a Spanish one at 2pm till 5!Story of my life in campus. It's what happens when the most strict of lecturers schedules two classes on a free Monday morning.I mean I might as well enjoy relaxing now while I can right?
I took these pictures during the first few days of last semester.I'd gone to class as usual and just after sitting down to wait for the lecturer,we got a text from the class representative that the lecturer had decided to cancel the class. So annoying! This especially because the distance from our hostels to the actual school is quite the long walk.Worse, the class had been scheduled for eight and I'd rushed so much to avoid lateness and the embarrassment that he would have given me as a result of it.Seriously lecturers!!
Anyway,I decided to go ahead and get these photos taken despite the feeling of boredom I was experiencing at the time because I felt like my time had been wasted, plus I had no plans whatsoever for the rest of the morning. In fact, the whole day.I should have been in jeans for that.
This skirt was previously a dress and the top part was chiffon.I took it to my tailor who had it fixed. The top part was slightly ruined and I wouldn't have been able to wear it like that.I liked the bottom part because it's nice and checked so I wasn't going to waste the whole thing.I love the way green blends with yellow so that's the combination of colors I opted for in addition to the black and white on the skirt.

  1. You don't stop inspiring me :) I'm in love with this outfit and I especially like the mix of colors. Office looks definitely don't need to be monochrome and boring. That tiny yellow belt is just as adorable as the pink one :)
    Have a lovely weekend!

  9. Sophie, you look so gorgeous! I adore that mint color on you and it looks fantastic paired with the printed skirt and pop of yellow! I remember those times when I would have to rush to class, only to discover that the professor was either late or the class had been canceled, which totally sucked! I know you're going to ace your exams on Monday and the day will go fast, so don't stress it ;) In the meantime, enjoy the weekend and just relax as much as you can!
