Hey guys !
I hope all's well and that you're all feeling as inspired as I am after the Ineos Challenge this past Saturday. Eliud Kipchoge has made me look at life in a different way. Truly no human is limited. I'll just try to keep that in mind everytime.

So anyway,  I don't know what the weather's looking like wherever you are but it's been weird in Nairobi.  Mostly cold and well,  seeing that it's getting cooler in places experiencing fall, I thought I'd do this post on a simple idea of how to layer a button up and sweater. By the way, is it a button up or a button down? I will just use "button up" for this post lol.

So you might remember this sweater from a post I did here on the blog a very long time ago.  It's one of my favorite sweaters honestly if not my favorite. Also, the most costly sweater I own but well, it was worth it. I love it because it is a floral embroidered sweater. You guys know I really love a good embroidered piece.  I also love a great chunky knit and well it's just a win for me.

So there's the white button up shirt.A white button up shirt as you all probably know by now is a wardrobe staple. These actually go with anything and everything. They save you on those "I don't know what to wear " days.

I really love the sweater over collared shirt look because it's always so chic  if you ask me. Whether you try it with tailored pants,  leggings or jeans,  it has a way of looking all sorts of amazing.

So for this simple look,  I decided to wear my floral embroidered sweater with this white button up I've had for years.  I decided not to tuck in my shirt.  I love how it peeks. You know,  the sweater is a bit cropped.

So because my floral embroidered sweater is already a statement,  I decided to keep my bottoms plain. They're tailored skinny pants. I also just went for the cutest bag I have. This black backpack made my sweater over collared shirt look a bit more preppy which I love.

So,  to finish my sweater over collared shirt look, I opted for these simple silver shoes.  I love them.I think they're my most worn shoes of 2019. Crazy that it's already October.

I think this look works so well in different environments. I hope you love it as much as I do and have gotten a nice simple idea of how to layer a button up and sweater.

In case you'd like to see more ideas on how to dress for fall or for cold weather, I did a video and this look was part of the six I shared. You can watch it below.

  6. Oh yes I love a embroidered sweater too! This one is gorgeous. And loving your silver flat laceups. I saw a young woman in NYC wearing a pair with black trousers and a white top and I loved the look and thought to myself, "I need a pair of those!"
