Hey guys!

I hope you're doing great. Well, so am I. Just thought I'd share this look on how to wear an embroidered black velvet dress that I had up on my latest YouTube video on how to style velvet. For this outfit, I'm wearing a black dress and I love it. First of all, if you own no black dress, better get yourself one because these are life savers, trust me!

Can you believe that I bought this embroidered black velvet dress about three years ago and had not worn it since I did the first shoot in it? Sad right? To think it's a beautiful dress, midi in length that hugs me just right. Not too tight and definitely not lose on me.

However, I had to work on it a few times. See, it came two sizes too large. I took it to a tailor for adjusting and it fit me which is why I wore it for a photo shoot before but I didn't wear the velvet dress for a while and when I tried it on again after some months, turned out I'd lost even more weight and had to take it to the tailor again. Story of my life.

So I'm not particularly the biggest fan of spaghetti straps because they require a lot of thought and caution when it comes to the undergarments. I'm also not very used to having my arms so bare and out. However, Im a big fan of layering which is why I decided to wear a white turtleneck top under my black velvet dress. I loved how classic the look was because of the black and white contrast.

I also really love the red embroidery on my dress. It gives a nice contrast and pop of color to the look. I also chose to accessorize with this nice layered golden necklace and earrings, very simple ones since I wanted the focus to remain on my embroidered black velvet dress. Also, velvet outfits always look so classy don't you think?

For the footwear, I figured these black open shoes would do great because they are so simple, so easy to walk in and because my black velvet dress is in a midi length, open shoes would be better than closed ones and how right I was because the balance is great over here. Those and my black, little crossbody bag completed my velvet outfit perfectly.

I hope you loved this idea on how to wear an embroidered black velvet dress outfit. Do check out my video below sometime. Meanwhile, I'll leave it at that.
