Hey guys!
How are you all doing? I hope the answer is "fine" and yes, I'm alright.
First, I apologize for the hiatus. Wasn't my intention to neglect my blog since my last outfit post, but it's been a busy couple of days. Busy because first, there's work, two, I had to prepare for a trip and three, I had to go on that trip. So yeah, I was on vacation on my birthday week. Turned a year older on 7th September and with the kind of year we've had, I felt like I needed a break far away from Nairobi, my city. I was gone for a while but I'm back with a bang and a lot of content. The vlogs will be on my YouTube Channel which by the way you should subscribe to but the pictures and outfits will all land here.
So first of all, I went to Diani, a beautiful town in Kenya's South Coast region. I loved it. It's a warm or even hot region with amazing white beaches, beautiful resorts, delicious food and most of all, the most friendly people I've met in my life.
I'll talk more about the town in bits on my next few posts butI'd like to start with where I stayed throughout my time there.
Aqua Resort Diani
My friend Jandy and I stayed in a beautiful villa in Aqua Resort. First, the resort is strategically located just under ten minutes away from the Ukunda Airstrip if you're using a tuk-tuk ( the most common transport means in Diani) and while we were riding in it to the resort, we couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of the town seen from just that one street. It was exciting.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed and shown to our villa, a two-bedroom one where my friend Jandy and I were to stay during our entire stay in the town.
Aqua Resort Diani is located just 150 metres from the beautiful beach and I love the fact that the apartments/ villas have a sea view that's so breathtaking. Something about being able to see the beach when you wake up that makes mornings so magical don't you think?
The living room, which is the first thing you see when you step into the villa/apartment was well furnished with very simple decor that was classic but with a modern feel. It had enough sofas and a flatscreen TV, beautiful long curtains and large windows for great lighting.
The kitchen was an open-plan one adjacent to the living area and was fully equipped. It had a fridge, a toaster, an oven, cutlery and everything else you can think of that would make you feel like you're in your home kitchen, which we loved.
So we stayed in a two-bedroom villa and the bedrooms were huge with fresh, clean, white bedding on the four-poster beds. As you can see from the pictures, the villa really just had some minimalist decor but looked great. Sometimes, less is more and simplicity goes a long way don't you think?
Being a fashion girl, my favourite part of any bedroom though is usually the closet area and this apartment had a large wardrobe offering you more than enough space to organize your clothes in.
As if that wasn't good enough, my bedroom which was the master was adjacent to the balcony so by opening the second bedroom door, I had access to the balcony which again had that amazingly breathtaking sea view.
