Hey guys!
I hope you're doing great. Well, so am I.I did mention in two posts I've already done that I got back from an amazing vacation in Nakuru Town, one of the largest towns in Kenya recently. I have so much footage from the trip and I'm more than happy to share.
So I stayed at the Ziwa Bush Lodge which is located just about 15km from the town centre. During my four-day stay there, I made the most of my time to take photos and also managed to thoroughly look around. I got a full tour of the place and that includes a tour of the different accommodation options they have, you know, just in case I get the chance to go back.
I figured I'd share these images and a few details on their cottages just in case you feel like going on vacation in Nakuru or if you're looking for a great vacation spot in Kenya and haven't decided where yet.
So, the Ziwa Bush Lodge, aside from having holiday homes, has ten rooms or what they call cottages. Seven are executive rooms while three are standard. The executive rooms are more costly than the standard ones because they are more spacious, have a double bed and an extra single bed inside. The standard rooms only have a single bed but are equally beautiful, I mean they are on the same location.
So, the theme outside, inside and around the cottage is predominantly African, which I really love. The owners have really mastered the art of making traditional African style look more modern. The first thing you see outside is a setting that reminds me of my grandmother's place.
You are welcomed by two traditional African-style seats and a tiny table before opening the door to a gorgeous room that felt so warm thanks to the beautiful African decor and colors.
The room has one four-poster double bed with white bedding. There are also two golden pillows and a nice fringed bed throw. The walls have just enough African-style decorations which include a large mirror with an African-themed frame that I, unfortunately, didn't photograph. Aside from the main source of light in the room, you also get two lamp sheds on both sides of the bed.
As you can see from the images, the room has an extra single bed, very simple in design, also with some white bedding. You also get two seats in the room and a cabinet big enough for your vacation clothes. Since it could get rather cold at night during your vacation in Nakuru, you also get two extra blankets. Trust me, you would have to use them during rainy days.
I also really loved the warm wooden flooring. It looked so amazing with everything else on it. It makes the whites and warm tones in the room pop, although the flooring is different in the bathroom.
The walk to the bathroom area was simply delightful. First, there's the bench, a rather long one that you see as you enter the bathroom area. You can sit there as you prepare your bath essentials. You can also put some of your stuff there, however U got the impression that it's there for the aesthetic.
The sink is great with sufficient lighting above it so you can easily get your vacation skincare routine done and fix your hair, you know, such stuff. However, my favorite part of this vacation cottage was the stone wall in the actual shower area as you can see in the picture below.
It's a rather unique wall, a concept I don't think I've seen around much which gives the place even more points if you ask me.
While there, you can enjoy the rest of the resort's facilities such as the restaurant and the pool. There is also the pool bar which overlooks the pool. Remember to carry some great vacation outfits for great pictures too. Everyone needs good memories.
Be sure to watch the video I did showing a comprehensive tour of these amazing cottages for holidays in Nakuru and the rest of the resort. Thanks for stopping by.
Xo,
Sophie
