Hey guys!
I hope you're doing well. So am I. I am really sorry for the hiatus. This year has been quite eventful to be honest and I am absolutely grateful for the same. I have no complaints whatsoever. As I write this, I am in France. I have been here for three months now and as you can imagine, I can't believe it. I am very grateful for everything that's happened in my life to be honest. It's a great feeling to achieve a dream you once had. Mine was to some day live in France and Voila! I am here now. It's Christmas time and I have been enjoying the Christams markets hence my little Vlogmas series on YouTube.
Well, not only am I doing well, but I am extremely happy to be in Alsace. I literally live in the Christmas region, easily Christmas haven, just close to Colmar, Strasbourg but where exactly? In Mulhouse. At first, I lived near Geneva and Annecy but as a result of circumstance, I had to return. It's extremely cold but I keep the complaints at a minimum because I am having the time of my life here.
The images you are seeing are of Colmar, moly me at the Colmar Christmas markets and city centre. It's beautiful in Colmar. I really just love that it feels like wonderland for me there. I could share more and more pictures of the Christmas market and stuff and you can watch my videos because I have two vlogs on the same. However, for now, I figured I'd share an outfit post.
My Kenyan body refuses to accept that I am in Europe. In short, it's not adapted to the immense cold. I often find myself in layers of clothes like on this day where I was wearing four sweaters and a coat. I am also often in tall boots, very uncharacteristic of myself while in Nairobi, but I love them. Funny how we usually look most stylish in the lowest of temperatures. I hate cold weather but I love the style that is associated with it. The coat is a recent purchase from Shein by the way. I tell you, old habits die hard.
Anyway guys, there's a lot to see in Alsace. If you ever get the chance to visit this place, grab that chance by everything you got. There are beautiful German style buildings that will somehow make you forget that you are in France, but then the language and delicious pastries around will remind you that you are indeed in France. The place looks like it's straight out of a movie set and a fairy tale at that. The cathedral is a wonder and I even went inside it to see the art there for myself. It was incredible to be honest.
The little shops in the market truly made my day, and don't even get me started on all the new things I tried out like the hot apple juice. I couldn't figure out whether I found it fantastic or weird, whether they heat up the juice or water, whether there's a different recipe for making it or not. I just went ahead and tried it. It was good after that long walk. I will share a few more photos of the place but for now, Joyeux Noel as they say here.
Thank you for stopping by.
Xo,
Sophie
