Well, considering how long I've been missing in action, I figured I'd show some love by making an appearance. How are you all doing?
I'm great, just living life in France and well, so far so good. I figured I'd share this post of me wearing this cute little outfit I wore for a breakfast date in St. Julien en Genevois with my Columbian friend who I often hang out with when I was still in the Haute Savoie region.
One of the things I was looking forward to before coming to France was the breakfast, imagining all the baguettes and croissants. I have honestly really been enjoying them. What better way to enjoy a great French breakfast than by actually wearing a cute little French girl outfit?
I got this skater dress while thrifting and I immediately imagined this outfit. To think I got the dress while I was still in Nairobi lol. It may have cost me a very reasonable amount but I think it's a gem. it's this beautifully collared dress with the bows on the cute white collar. I really never get tired of buying black dresses.
I knew that it was going to be short and cute and I already had this pair of flats which by the way is difficult to style because of the colorblock and shape. however, I love the shoes for their uniqueness, especially considering it is a flat style shoe. It's also a Frenchie design which meant it would be perfect for a French girl outfit, especially alongside this skater dress.
So, I wore my little French girl collared skater dress with the lovely flats and decided to accessorize further. For my french girl outfit, I obviously needed a beret. I kept this black because I was going for a simple predominantly black look. I went for these earrings I got at the CBD in Nairobi and topped the look off with a black bag.
So, I honestly never liked St. Julien En Genevois because it's not that cute a city, however, the little pastry and breakfast cafes are great. the breakfast you see here, you know, the croissants, the baguette, some orange juice, very common in France and well tea is not so ordinary but I had to get my own cup of tea as per usual.
So, that was my French girl outfit for a breakfast date. one thing though, French people are not always as dressed up as we have been made to believe lol. Also, they don't always wear berets but well, I remain with the heart of a tourist so to me, dressing up like this is just a joy.
