How To Wear A Maxi Dress With Sneakers

Then again, we here in Africa are saying "Hello Dezembaaah" lol. I hope you are well. I also sincerely apologize for the hiatus. I've been up and down doing lots of work. A girl has to do what a girl has to do, earning a living so that I can buy the clothes I post up here and pay my bills too. I'm glad the year is coming to an end and we've all made it this far. Today, I'm doing a post on how to wear a maxi dress with sneakers.

So if you know me well you know that I am definitely that girl who will want to wear a pair of white sneakers with just about anything in my closet. Yes, I love to wear sneakers a lot especially white ones but my favorite way to style mine is with dresses. 

I've worn sneakers with dresses on several occasions and have put up a number of posts here on my blog on the same, sure you've seen them, but I tried something different this time. For this post I chose to wear a maxi dress with sneakers. I know for some people the sound of that is a bit scary. It doesn't have to be though.

So first of all, I bought this amazing maxi dress in my home town for a number of reasons. First, I loved the subtle print on it but also loved the hints and touches of red and blue that contrast beautifully against its off white color. 

So this dress was about four sizes large and because of that, I had to take it to my tailor who in most cases does a pretty good job customizing my clothes to fit me perfectly. So, he also shortened the dress because it was too long, it was basically a maxi dress that would drag on the floor. I didn't want that because whites can get dirty very quickly right?

So, as I like to do with most of my maxi dresses, I was about to go with a pair of sandals to complete the pairing but figured I'd try something different. That's how I ended up settling for a sporty chic look. How? Well like I mentioned, I decided to wear a maxi dress with sneakers.

Since the dress has hints of red, I figured I'd just match my bag too so I picked this red bag that I have always really loved and also went for a red ht. I love the hat as well. The fact that it's nice and flat at the top works so well for me and it's also in that perfect red shade.

At this point, I might as well also point out just how great my maxi dress looks against the background. I just love it. Anyway, ladies, next time do not shy away from wearing your maxi dress with sneakers. Sneakers just have a way of making a pretty outfit look cooler and that's something we like right?
